Works of Wonder (WoW) Artists

When we consider the education and development of children, our mind focuses automatically on common core teaching subjects such as language learning, mathematics or science. The question that arises is simple: are they sufficient to provide a holistic progression both on the cognitive and social aspects of a child?

Although art education is often perceived as a luxury, it is a fact that simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of children growth. Learning to create and appreciate art may be less obvious but is extremely important. Children need to know more about the world than just what they can learn through text and numbers. Art education teaches children how to interpret, criticize, use visual information and how to make choices based on it.

Works of Wonder Artists is more that an art group for children. It embodies my basic belief that art is an important way to encourage the process and the experience of thinking, creating and expressing of children. It is a mean to guide them discover more about themselves.
